Personal Medication Inventory

By Nancy Montgomery
CONSUMER HEALTH INTERACTIVE

Most patients try to follow the instructions on their medicine bottles. But in the real world, people don't always follow them to the letter. They make mistakes, forget when prescriptions should be taken, or take less than their doctors recommend.

When it comes to medications, mistakes like these can be dangerous. But taking an inventory of your medicines -- writing down their names and how often they should be taken -- can help keep you on track. You can also bring this inventory in to your doctor for checkups.

Keeping track of your drugs can be easy and safe.
